Amtrak Adds Extra Trains for Comic Con in San Diego

Traveling to Comic Con International in San Diego this July 21-24?  You can leave your car behind and use public transportation to get around, including the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.  In response to increased ridership in years past, Amtrak is adding extra Pacific Surfliner trains between Los Angeles and San Diego during the weekend of Comic Con in San Diego.  The Pacific Surfliner offers nearly hourly service between Los Angeles and San Diego with selected trains originating in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.

The San Diego Convention Center, the home base of Comic Con is a mile from the Amtrak station in downtown San Diego.  In addition to walking from the station, San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System Green Line light route travels to the Convention Center from the Amtrak station and costs $2.50 one-way for an adult fare.

Amtrak is adding more cars to many of the regularly scheduled trains operating along the route in addition to the extra trains shown here.
