Amtrak is evoking the family festive, nostalgic, and celebratory holiday feelings that comes from holiday season train travel by debuting its social media-based and photo-friendly #AmtrakHolidayContest. For 12 days starting Thursday, December. 13, contestants can post their holiday and Amtrak themed photos, with the hashtag “#AmtrakHolidayContest,” on their personal Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts to submit an entry.
[penci_blockquote style=”style-1″ align=”right” author=””]Customers who share their best holiday-themed Amtrak photos via social media can win one of 12 prizes[/penci_blockquote]On a daily basis through Tuesday, December 25, the Amtrak social media team will choose the top photo of the day and will contact the winner directly on what prize they won and how they can receive it. The #AmtrakHolidayContest will have a total of 12 winners and a variety of prizes to distribute, including six Dunkin’ gift cards valued at $100 each and six Amtrak “swag bags.”
“With our #AmtrakHolidayContest, we know we can bring that holiday magic to train travel with inspirational pictures from our customers,” said Amtrak Chief Marketing Officer Tim Griffin. “The holiday season is Amtrak’s busiest time, and whether you are traveling for business or leisure, your journey can best be summarized by a picture, and that’s what we are hoping to see through this contest.”
Contestants can submit as many entry photos as they would like, but can only win once. The Judging Panel will evaluate submissions based on the inclusion of Amtrak elements (train, station, logo, etc.) and reference to the holiday and/or winter season. While creativity is encouraged in the photos, the picture quality does not need to be at a professional level to win.
Applications will only be accepted via social media that use the required hashtags. Photo entries must be posted one time and posting a photo on multiple platforms will not be considered as more than one Entry or increase chances of winning. Each Entry must not have won previous awards and may not have been published previously. All Entry posts or newsfeed need to be set to “public,” as applicable, so it can be seen by Amtrak. Group entries will not be accepted. Must be a legal resident of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, and least 18 years old. Other terms and conditions apply.
