Alaska Airlines Wakes Up Salt Lake City

At the beginning of December, Alaska announced that starting in June 2014, they will add four new nonstop routes from Salt Lake City to Portland, OR, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Jose, CA.  Also, they will add a third nonstop flight between Salt Lake City and Seattle. Then, last week, Alaska announced that they are adding even more nonstop routes from Salt Lake City to Boise, Las Vegas and San Francisco next June as well.

“Salt Lake City has long been a top requested market by our customers and we are pleased to add to our successful Seattle-Salt Lake City flights with additional service from four other West Coast gateways,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing. “This new service connects travelers with Alaska’s strong network on the West Coast. In addition, our customers will enjoy double miles that apply toward elite status in our award-winning Mileage Plan program.”

Alaska will launch these various new routes and additions during between June 9-12, 2014. With the addition of these flights, Alaska will serve the following markets as listed:

Boise – Once daily

Las Vegas – Twice daily

Los Angeles – Once daily

Portland, OR – Twice daily

San Diego – Twice daily

San Francisco – Once daily

San Jose – Once daily

Seattle – Three times daily

To celebrate the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering members of its Mileage Plan double miles on these routes, which count toward status in the airline’s MVP, MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75K elite-level programs.
