Amtrak Adds Two New Trains between LA and San Diego

Starting today, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner passengers will enjoy even more travel options thanks to the addition of two new daily trains – an early-morning train from San Diego to Los Angeles and an evening train from Los Angeles to San Diego.

The new northbound Pacific Surfliner will depart San Diego at 4:00 a.m. on weekdays and 4:40 a.m. on weekends, arriving in Los Angeles at 7:03 a.m. on weekdays and 7:30 a.m. on weekends. Amtrak Adds More Train Service in California

Starting today, the Amtrak San Joaquins will add a seventh daily round-trip train between the San Francisco Bay Area to Bakersfield through Stockton and Fresno.

This added frequency along the San Joaquins route through California’s Central Valley will make it even more convenient for passengers to travel throughout the state. Amtrak offers extra train service in the Northeast on Independence Day

Looking to get around the northeast between Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia or New York City?  Skip the highway and take advantage of extra trains that Amtrak is adding for holiday travelers.  Amtrak is offering low fares and a special late-night train, number 1776, from Washington, DC in celebration of Independence Day.

Amtrak Introduces #AmtrakResidency Program

Sometimes something small turns into something grand.  What started as a line in Alexander Chee’s interview in PEN Ten (and fueled by Twitter) has officially become an Amtrak program.
