California State Fair Opens Today

For more than 160 years, the California State Fair has showcased the best of the Golden State. During the 17 best days of summer, fairgoers can experience delicious food, learn about California agriculture, taste the winners of olive oil, cheese, wine, and beer competitions, witness live horse racing, and have fun on the Midway Carnival. The California State Fair has a fun experience waiting for everyone.

A Great Tradition Continues This Weekend: Chicago’s Jazz Festival

Known for its artistic creativity, the Chicago Jazz Festival is a favorite Labor Day Weekend tradition.  The Chicago Jazz Festival takes place this weekend, Thursday-Sunday, September 3-6 at the Chicago Cultural Center in Millennium Park.

The festival promotes awareness and appreciation for all forms of jazz through free, quality live musical performance. Since 1979, the festival’s mission is to showcase Chicago’s vast jazz talent alongside national and international artists to encourage and educate a jazz audience of all ages.

Closing Weekend of Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival

Acclaimed by critics and beloved by audiences, the Grant Park Music Festival is the nation’s only free, summer-long outdoor classical music series of its kind.  

This weekend, the Festival’s 2015 Season comes to a thrilling close with Elgar’s epic oratorio The Kingdom, featuring the Grant Park Chorus and an all-star line-up of vocalists including the internationally renowned soprano Erin Wall.
