Amtrak Adds Extra Trains for Comic Con in San Diego

Traveling to Comic Con International in San Diego this July 21-24?  You can leave your car behind and use public transportation to get around, including the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.  In response to increased ridership in years past, Amtrak is adding extra Pacific Surfliner trains between Los Angeles and San Diego during the weekend of Comic Con in San Diego.  The Pacific Surfliner offers nearly hourly service between Los Angeles and San Diego with selected trains originating in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.

Amtrak Adds More Train Service in California

Starting today, the Amtrak San Joaquins will add a seventh daily round-trip train between the San Francisco Bay Area to Bakersfield through Stockton and Fresno.

This added frequency along the San Joaquins route through California’s Central Valley will make it even more convenient for passengers to travel throughout the state. Amtrak Adds Summer Night Service to Midwest Hiawatha Route

Amtrak Hiawatha Service passengers can make more evening plans for dinner, a show, shopping, and sporting events on Saturday nights through the Labor Day weekend. Late night trips between Chicago and Milwaukee will be offered from May 21 through Sept. 3, 2016. The schedule shows the addition of Train 343, departing from Chicago at 11:10 p.m., and Train 344, departing from Milwaukee at 10:40 p.m.

Amtrak Now Offers Bike Service on Vermonter Route between Washington, DC and Upstate Vermont

Amtrak is launching bike service on the Vermonter to provide passengers a more convenient way to travel with their bicycles. Tickets for carry-on bike service are now available for travel beginning May 1.

The Vermonter operates daily between Washington, D.C., and St. Albans, Vt., with service to Philadelphia, New York City, Hartford, Conn., Springfield, Mass. and Essex Junction, Vt., and other intermediate stops.
