San Jose Lands Flight to Frankfurt
0

The Silicon Valley will soon have more options when it comes to traveling to Europe as Lufthansa will introduce non-stop service between Frankfurt and San Jose this coming spring.  The new service, which will start on July 1, 2016, will be the first non-stop flights to the Silicon Valley from a European airport.

The five-times-weekly service will be operated using Airbus 340-300 equipment and is expected to take about 12 hours.  The westbound flight into San Jose will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing Frankfurt in the morning and arriving San Jose in the early afternoon.  The eastbound flight will operate as an overnight flight, leaving San Jose in the mid-afternoon and arriving in Frankfurt the following late-morning.  The schedule is designed to provide the best possible connections with many other Lufthansa flights connecting through their hub in Frankfurt.

Recently, British Airways announced direct service between London’s Heathrow and San Jose on board their new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.  While Lufthansa is the second carrier to announce new European service to San Jose, they will now be the first one to commence service as British Airways’ new service begins in May, a week later than Lufthansa.

Travelers to and from San Jose will have three seating classes to choose from:  Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy.  Additionally, a round-trip ticket will be available for as little as $1019.00.  Lufthansa is part of the Star Alliance which includes United Airlines, Air Canada and 25 airlines throughout the world.
